This is a really good, valuable watch. So much to unpack in a few minutes.

The first few minutes are THE most important for cardiac arrest and major bleeding . And all explained very clearly.

There is also a section on why women are often less likely to receive CPR in an emergency – something we’re passionate about changing.

Please take a few minutes to watch and learn more about how to save a life!

We recently posted about the need to do more to get women the CPR help they need. Female manikins should become more prevalent so hats off to Northamptonshire Fire & Rescue Service for leading the way!

Repost @bbcnews A fire service in England is using a bespoke female CPR manikin to help "reduce hesitation in people delivering emergency care to women".

Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service's prevention team hopes the new equipment will help "save lives".

It will also offer training to show how to deliver chest compressions and where to correctly place defibrillator pads on breasts, as well as how to cut off bras.

The fire service said research from St John Ambulance showed that a third of British people were "afraid to give CPR to a woman because they are worried about touching breasts".

We 100% back the @ourjayfoundation campaign to install Defibrillators in Police cars across the country. What a huge difference that would make and we know it would save countless lives.

Please back the campaign. To bring it home to Chiswick, @ourjayfoundation helped fund the defib outside O2 shop on Chiswick High Road. Amazing. Thank you so much for all you are doing!

Read their story - back their campaigns!! 🙏

Repost @ourjayfoundation I’m sorry it’s taken me a while to share, but we’ve been inundated with so many positive calls, messages and emails, alongside all your lovely tags from our appearance on @gmb with Susanna and Ed this morning. They were fantastic, as always and their support is amazing for our campaigns.

We’ve already been contacted by 2 new police’s forces, who would like to talk with us about defibrillators for their fleet of vehicles and this is such a great outcome, to happen so quickly after our TV interview.

The hard work really must keep going..our British Empire Medal is truly special to all of Jamie’s team and I was honoured to receive it, but our campaigns for accessible defibrillators, Police vehicle defibrillators and Jamie’s Law are always our absolute priority and we have to keep going and fight harder than ever, for Jamie! No family should ever have to go through this complete devastation, because of the lack of a defibrillator. As always, we are so grateful for your support and kindness.
Jamie should just be here..Our hero and inspiration in every second of everyday 💙🩵💙

We know there is a lot of nervousness using a defibrillator and can understand it but there is a lot of help to make it easier. This is one thing - they talk to you guiding you in the process.

We of course advocate getting training but whatever the situation, using a defibrillator can be the difference between life & death. Learn how to use a #defibrillator and learn #CPR!

@resuscounciluk If you’re ever in a situation where you need to use a public access defibrillator (PAD) and you have never learnt how to use one, or you forget the steps, just turn it on and listen closely.

Defibs have a built-in automated voice that will talk you through the steps, so they can be used by anyone to help save a life!

‘…Women are mis-diagnosed all the time for heart attacks…’ This scene from the Pitt is so powerful we had to share.

It is so important to learn how to save a life including CPR and, whether a woman or a man, acting quickly and doing what needs to be done is what counts.

I know we go on a lot about Defibrillators, but it is so important to stress how these little machines are true life savers. The more we have, the more lives will be saved.

Do you know where your closest defibrillator is near you? There are a few around here in #Chiswick especially down the High Road or near the River but if you went further afield or travelled out of the country, how would you know where to find them?

We think a single European database is a great idea. Have a watch of this short video to be convinced. The more defibrillators we have and can easily be found, the better for all.

#savealife #defibrillators #CPR #lifesavingskills

Repost @ninacarberrymep I have called on the European Commission to develop an EU-wide approach to cataloguing defibrillators. Too many defibrillators are effectively hidden in plain sight, with more than 9,000 devices across Ireland, and nearly half are not registered. We already have EU legislation to enable health data-sharing across borders. We should show the same ambition when it comes to defibrillators.

New figures show women are less likely than men to receive bystander CPR as many "feel unsure about touching a woman's chest", an ambulance service has revealed.

In the data released ahead of International Women's Day on 8 March, Thames Valley Air Ambulance revealed one in three women who suffer a cardiac arrest receive no CPR before emergency crews arrive.

The charity says that is not because "bystanders don't care, but because they hesitate" and it urges more people to step forward if they witness a woman in cardiac arrest.

Ahead of International Women's Day, The Duchess of Edinburgh, who is the Royal Patron of the charity visited to learn CPR, practicing on a female manikin.

We feel strongly about this and encourage the push to get women the CPR help they need and require.

Repost @tvairambulance One in three women who suffer a cardiac arrest receive no CPR before emergency crews arrive. ♀️💓

It’s not because bystanders don’t care, but because they hesitate.

Many people feel unsure about touching a woman’s chest, removing clothing or cutting through a bra to apply defibrillator pads. But notions of modesty should never get in the way of saving a life.

Ahead of #InternationalWomensDay, our Royal Patron The Duchess of Edinburgh joined us at our Stokenchurch HQ to learn CPR - practicing on a female manikin and supporting our call for more people to step forward with confidence if a woman suffers a cardiac arrest.

If you do one thing this #InternationalWomensDay take two minutes to watch our CPR video and be prepared to step in should the worst happen.

Such an important message! You don’t want to be standing by and watch someone in trouble – learn CPR and help after calling emergency services. It’s not hard but so worthwhile.

If you want to know about our Life Saving Courses which include CPR training get in touch. We can also come to your premises and do a training there.

REPOST   @resuscounciluk

Learning CPR matters.

The few who survive an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest are often still here because a bystander or loved one performed CPR until emergency services arrived.

Don’t wait. Learn CPR today.

Whether you visit clients’ homes or they visit you at your home, workspace or outdoor space, it is considered good practice to have a first aid qualification on your CV and it demonstrates that you are engaging actively in the exercise of your Duty of Care. The Emergency First Aid at Work qualification gives you and your clients the peace of mind that you can act efficiently and effectively in an emergency, particularly in those first ‘golden moments’ while awaiting professional medical help to arrive.

Small Local Businesses, Charities, Clubs

The Health & Safety Executive legislation and guidance aims to ensure all employers have first aid provision in place for employees, contractors and any onsite visitors. This can be a heavy burden in terms of cost and 'time out' for small businesses. We offer flexibility to make this HSE compliance easily accessible, reasonably priced and enjoyable. Individual employees can attend one of our weekly ‘open’ courses at a venue close to you or we can dedicate a day for your employees.

What Our Customers Say

Here is some of the feedback we get from our customers.

Colette has run a number of First Aid Courses for our tennis venues and coaches in Surrey. The feedback has been very positive with participants finding the courses both enjoyable and highly informative. The training sessions are presented with clarity and detail and has helped us in providing local support for our venues and coaches.

Surrey Tennis

The best First Aid training we have received. Colette is an engaging presenter - staff were fully involved and sessions were extremely well structured.  Holding the training in our own setting enabled us to run through scenarios realistically and staff confidence consequently increased. The days we booked were much better value than previous training we had purchased.  Colette was also very flexible about dates and timings.  We would highly recommend her.

Jane Hines, Headteacher, St.Elizabeth’s Catholic Primary School

I attended an Emergency First Aid at Work course run by No1 First Aid Instructors in Chiswick. It was a relaxed, comfortable venue and I learned so much from CPR to helping a choking casualty to how to deal with seizures. It was professional, informative and very hands on and I really enjoyed the day. I will definitely recommend to my colleagues.

James Zaman, LTA Tennis Coach

We have used No1 First Aid Instructors to run several evening courses for our coaches, volunteers and parents. Colette delivers great first aid training and is good at both engaging learners and making the course relevant to our club members and volunteers whether they are 16 or 66! Efficient, flexible re dates/times etc and reasonably priced. Feedback is always positive and we will continue to use this great local training resource into the future.
