Emergency First Aid at Work Course

COURSE LENGTH: 1 DAY

This course was introduced by the Health & Safety Executive in 2009 to enable a first aider to give emergency first aid to someone who is injured or becomes ill at work. Learners will acquire the skills and knowledge to give treatment to any casualty in a prompt, safe and effective manner. It is suitable for employees or volunteers in any sector and provides good basic life support skills for small to medium sized organizations in low hazard environments.

No previous First Aid experience is necessary. Certificates are valid for 3 years. Minimum six contact hours with practical and theoretical activities.

First Aid at Work Course

COURSE LENGTH: 3 DAY

This comprehensive course covers a wide range of first aid emergencies and will enable all learners to deal with emergency situations with confidence in a prompt, safe and effective way. This course will give participants a qualification to the highest level of First Aid, meeting the statutory requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. It is most suitable for higher hazard workplaces such as factories and construction sites or workplaces with more than 50 employees but will ultimately depend upon your risk assessment outcome.

 

It is recommended that First Aiders with this qualification complete an Annual Refresher course in order to keep their skills up-to-date and refreshed, then every three years they should complete the two day First Aid at Work Re-Qualification course to maintain this First Aid at Work qualification.

First Aid at Work Course: Re-Qualification

COURSE LENGTH: 2 DAY

This course is designed for those who currently hold a First Aid at Work qualification that is due to expire. This course therefore covers the full range of subjects learnt in the First Aid at Work course, taken at a slightly faster pace as a level of base knowledge is assumed.

Delegates must hold a valid First Aid at Work Certificate, or one that has lapsed by no more than I month. There are also special considerations for those holding certificates that have lapsed by between 1 and 3 months. Certificates from this Re-Qualification course are valid for 3 years. Minimum twelve contact hours with practical and theoretical activities.
